LAC delegation visited the Podlaskie dairy farm

A delegation from the Chamber of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania (LAC), comprising: Dr. Edvardas Gedgaudas, Director of the Lithuanian Cattle Breeders Association (LGVA); Farmers Nijolia Andruškevič and Barbara Novikova, representatives of the Šalčininkai District Farmers’ Association (ŠŽA); Dr. Arūnas Svitojus, President of the Chamber of Agriculture and Mr. Sigitas Dimaitis, Director of the Chamber of Agriculture, visited Mr. Witold Grunwald, a member of the Board of the Podlaskie Chamber of Agriculture and the owner of a dairy farm.

Strengthening Dialogue Between the Lithuanian and Polish Chambers of Agriculture – Cooperation Without Borders

Mr. Witold Grunwald operates a modern dairy farm, maintaining a herd of 50 milking cows. The farm represents a successful family-owned business, deeply rooted in agricultural traditions while actively integrating innovative technologies.
The implementation of automated milking systems, animal welfare solutions, and sustainable production practices allows the farm to remain competitive even amidst major market challenges.

Mr. Grunwald is a prominent farmer in the Podlaskie Voivodeship of Poland, a committed member of the Podlaskie Chamber of Agriculture Board, and a strong advocate for the interests of the dairy sector and rural communities at both national and international levels.
“Dairy farming is a daily commitment that starts before sunrise and ends late at night. However, it is work that nourishes families, regions, and nations. It deserves recognition and respect. Close cooperation between the Lithuanian and Polish Chambers of Agriculture not only facilitates knowledge exchange but also enables unified representation of farmers’ interests at the European Union level,” stated Mr. Grunwald.

During the visit, the delegation toured the farm’s facilities and livestock, and engaged in discussions on key sectoral issues, including the current situation of the raw milk market, the significance of farmer cooperation, the effects of European Union policies on small and medium-sized farms, and the role of technology in enhancing farm productivity.
“Only through direct dialogue with farmers and by experiencing their daily realities can we develop policies that are practical and beneficial. Today’s meeting reaffirmed that our goals, concerns, and visions are remarkably aligned,” emphasized Dr. Arūnas Svitojus.
