In April 2025, during the distinguished “Mleczne Laury 2025” (Milk Laurels) awards ceremony held in Olsztyn, Poland, representatives of the Chamber of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania – President Dr. Arūnas Svitojus and Director Sigitas Dimaitis – were awarded honorary distinctions for their outstanding contribution to international cooperation in the dairy sector.
The event, organised by the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers (Polska Federacja Hodowców Bydła i Producentów Mleka, PFHBiPM) together with regional partners, gathered hundreds of dairy farmers, agricultural leaders, scientists, and public institutions.
Dr. Arūnas Svitojus and Sigitas Dimaitis were honoured for their role in strengthening cross-border partnerships, promoting dialogue between Lithuanian and Polish agricultural communities, and encouraging sustainable development in the Baltic dairy region.
“This award is not only a personal recognition but also an appreciation of the efforts of the entire Lithuanian farming community. The dairy sector is a strategic branch of agriculture, and international collaboration is key to its sustainable future,” said Dr. Svitojus.
The “Mleczne Laury” ceremony celebrates the most innovative and productive dairy farms and sector contributors in Poland. The 2025 edition placed particular emphasis on regional cooperation, sustainability, and excellence in farm management.
PFHBiPM is one of the largest dairy sector organisations in Europe, representing over 11,000 members. Its core areas of activity include genetic evaluation, breeding programs, technological advancement, data analysis, and advocacy for farmers’ interests.
